Open Question: how can a poor family get TV channels?without cable? NW-Arkansas?

we lost our jobs and now its time for cable to go away due to the cost.i have heard about a box that will get you 2 or 3 channels,but i cant find one any where.i tried walmart. i have also been told that the box doesn't work.i have 4 small children, that loves Disney channel.would just a antenna work?come on with the ideas! :) thanks...
