Auburn beat Arkansas State in week one, 52-26, led by Cam Newton's legendary debut of 357 yards of offense and 5 TDs by himself. The defense held ASU to 43 yards rushing. Mississippi State beat hapless Memphis 49-7, as Tyler Russell threw 4 TDs and they rolled up over 550 yards of offense. I say Auburn 41-17 over Mississippi State. What about you? Bam: I wasn't demeaning it, Memphis is hapless, and MSU smoked tham by 42. I'm worried about playing them at their place. But don't read too much into Auburn's defense in week one. We played vanilla, soft pass defense just to work out some kinks. Besides, we gave up just 43 yards rushing, and when we moved the corners up to the line of scrimmage, ASU could go nowhere but backwards. Defense will not be our weakness this year, or at least not a glaring one.
